Am I okay to just post in here without contributing anything useful? Because I just love sharing this boy with the world. His name is Jasper and he’s a cat-friendly ex-racing greyhound who we could not love any more.

Have to say, though, you all have the most excellent looking doggos ever! Give them all an extra pat/belly rub/kiss from Jasper and I.

yeso He’s super chill 98% of the time, that 2% though is just goofy, hyperactive craziness. Loves to zoom around in our backyard and got up to since crazy spinnies last night in our living room 🤣

He’s basically exactly like Santa’s Little Helper on The Simpsons, it’s crazy just how accurate greyhound behaviour is depicted in that show.

Tesla’s favorite part of the day is her adventures where she can sniff and pee on everything. I read somewhere that when dogs sniff and pee everywhere it’s like doggy BBS. They gather info about other dogs who have peed there and leave their own info. I wonder what the messages say?

Anyway here’s Tesla out on a nice day.

I read once that the info dogs get on their bbs is stuff like the type of dog, what they’ve eaten, how they’re feeling, whether they’re in heat (gross) and then the frequency or location of it shows some behavior stuff? something like that

also, I’ve been to lost levels and just bought R4 myself last weekend! fun almost-coincidence.

exodus We really have no idea what he is, breed wise. He’s a rescue and very adorable. He’s got some kind of soft-mouthed retriever in there (maybe a Duck Toller or Golden), and he looks weirdly like a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Maybe also Boxer? He’s a fluffy good/bad boy.

we did a wisdom panel on our guy and he’s 75% chihuahua and 25% rat terrier, on the dot. weird.

I guess he just looks like “generic tan small dog”

Here are my two: Popsicle (left, nervous, enjoys rolling in gross things) and Deedee (right, outgoing, likes eating gross things). They’re both about 11 and are both Jack Russell/Chihuahua mixes!

@Karasu interesting that your dogs look more like chihuahuas than mine does! - or at least the one on the right… on the left maybe not.

exodus I dunno, I think your lil cutie looks super much like a chihuahua! I mean there’s also a gigantic range within chihuahuas! Also I think neither of mine look much like Jack Russells, although their energy level is where it becomes obvious.

yeah, I guess that’s true - it’s just when I go to the park and I see a dog with a small muzzle and big eyeballs I’m like now that there is a chihuahua! This guy looks like a tiny formosan mountain dog or just some sort of a lab to me. Especially when the ears are down.

y’all got any tips or tricks to cutting a dog’s nails? he’s completely fine with us holding his paws, but he gets pretty skittish once the trimmers show up. sometimes he’ll leave the room until they’re put away. we’ve been clipping one or two while he sleeps, but i don’t know how sustainable that is or if that’ll get harder as he gets older.

I don’t know if the photo of your dog was its full size but for my guy (16 pounds) we cut leg holes out of a big sling bag and put his legs through it then hung him from a pull up bar. One person trims the nails while the other feeds treats. With this setup we can even use a nail grinder on them (which over time pushes the quick back making it easier to trim his nails in the future). It might be tough to do this with a dog that’s over 20 pounds I think.

All of these dogs are adorable, I especially love Tesla.

This is Nala, a boxer rottweiler. My parents adopted her from my sister’s friend as he had to move away and couldn’t give her her best life. She’s getting a bit old now, turning 13 a couple of weeks ago, but she’s still got plenty of boisterous energy when the postman comes.
