穴 Well something like half of the games shown today are coming to Switch anyway so… First standalone JoJo game on a Nintendo console since the 1993 Super Famicom game, I believe.

I guess by this point and with the series’ recent popularity surge in the Americas and South East Asia, the majority of JoJo fans weren’t even born back then.

穴 I see Valkyrie Profile fans are pretty mad about that reboot(?) that looks like an extremely still-in-development game with floaty FF15/Kingdom Hearts style action combat. My heart goes out to em. I did recognize Motoi Sakuraba on the music, though.

Also apparently SquEnix will not stop releasing new middling TRPGs with obvious FFT/Tactics Ogre envy yet will absolutely not hire Yasumi Matsuno to make an actual sequel to those games. Maddening.

On a Nintendo Direct-related note, apparently they have delayed that Advance Wars remake for a second time, ostensibly due to timing considerations over a game that has you rolling little primary-colored tanks across not-Europe. Might also be that it still looks kinda ugly.

Light Crusader, Alien Soldier and Super Fantasy Zone are now heart on fire on the Mega Drive and Genesis apps of the Nintendo Switch Online.

The first eight additional tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are out.

I saw some people worrying in anticipation that the tracks were maybe taken from Mario Kart Tour straight up, but here is a nice side-by-side comparison of the tracks with the original versions.

◉◉maru stayed up late like a big excited idiot to play these. I’m glad they’ve made some upgrades in bringing them over from the mobile game, but the change in art style is still off-putting. Some of the tracks feel a bit empty, like Mario Kart Wii custom tracks, and the AI seems to struggle on some of them, also like Mario Kart Wii custom tracks.

Still happy though, and can’t wait for the rest of them!

Dang you were not kidding. All three Tour tracks are excellent. [edit] Oh wait Ninja ~~Hideout~~ Hideaway is brand new!? It does not have any retro circuit label unlike the others. Or did it come out simultaneously on both 8DX and Tour, maybe? [edit2] It came out in 2021 in Tour. Huh. MarioWiki seems just as flummoxed.

Even though the track is from Mario Kart Tour, and the official website classifies it as a “Tour” track, the game does not assign it the “Tour” prefix.

I love that the third lap of the Paris track is reversed, meaning you can meet people coming the other way if you’re fast enough.

Available now in firmware update 14.0.0. Big up to all my Arcade Archives homies – we made it through! You can create up to 100 ~~folders~~ groups and each ~~folder~~ group can host 200 games so one might need to split Arcade Archives titles and Arcade Archives Neo Geo titles in two different ~~folders~~ groups.

So you can enter the same game into different groups. Here is my current setup. Getting dangerously close to the limit on the backlog group (199/200) which I guess is a good wake up call…

The Insert Credit search feature tells me we mostly discussed Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition here. We got a belated confirmation that South East Asia will once again get a (likely exclusive) physical edition, specifically on Switch. The digital edition comes out in two weeks.

Funbil I fully expected this to release between Black Friday and December 23rd. While it momentarily struck me as manipulative the phrasing (at least of the translation) “we have decided to extend our development time” feels like a very good faith description of a delay. I’m sure it’s highly market-research sterilized, but painting a delay as “we are going to take more time to develop this” feels like an easier pill to swallow than “we are missing our deadline” while not feeling too sleazy

Admittedly, I’ve owned more than one Zelda t-shirt and have come to expect delays from these games for over a decade now, so I am probably the wrong person to be displeased by this statement.

appreciate the footage of a broken weapon, nice to see they’re carrying forward the main theme of BOTW: weapon breaking every 3 min and having to go into a series of menus to replace it
