treefroggy I’d agree with this. Somehow spelling everything out so thoroughly makes it feel more complicated than it is. The first game did such a wonderful job of explaining the basics with a short exploratory gameplay area, a few short cutscenes and intuitive design decisions.
Granted the fourth has a lot more going on, but the demo definitely had a lot of interjected explaining - reminded me of the handholding wii-era. Hopefully that eases up as the game goes on, maybe they’re just trying to account for first-time players with the switch’s larger install base.
Also, 3 is great! A little short, but really polished and charming.
