I had a lot of fun with pokemon trading card game as a kid, but I only played it through an emulator and discovered that if you hold down the fast forward button you can play it like a slot machine where you can just set up a strong deck and gamble, either potentially get big payouts or lose a lot. It definitely entertained me for a couple days as an auto-battler.
