That looks like it could be a lot of fun if it doesn’t run out of ideas midway through. I laughed at the disposable chopsticks being unsheathed like a katana.

Some context for the unfamiliar: this is the second game in a series of crowdfunded party game anthologies spearheaded by comedian and part-time app developer Crystal Noda, with the gimmick that he’s not only crowdsourcing development funds but also game concepts and graphical/audio assets; the actual development is handled by a hodgepodge of studios, programmers and creators including Mojipittan creator Hiroyuki Goto, and many of the games are genuinely fun beyond their ridiculous premises.

This trailer mostly focuses on returning games, but they are adding more ambitious original content, including a fully-3D Souls parody starring another comedian, some sort of gamer chair racing game sponsored by a chair brand and a Shadowverse parody sponsored by Cygames themselves. It’s also worth mentioning that the WORLD suffix is not just an indicator that they’re adding online play but also that they intend to release this one globally.

thanks 100% to the king of fighters episode of insert credit, I went back and watched all of the Sakurai Presents series for newcomer characters I care about, (so all of them besides minmin and fire emblem girl) to see how much care was put into their design.
It was very entertaining thing to watch! I feel caught up now. I still am really irked by Ness’ voice in ultimate though, and it does ruin the entire game for me when he sounds like a whiny infant instead of the most powerful being with the power of the entire planet within him who also happens to be 12 like he did in melee.
But it did wanna make me pirate all the DLC, if not just for the music player, that’s a lot of value having the full soundtrack in soundplayer mode!!

Harvestella looks too generic for me to care but it is interesting. glad we are on a timeline where life sims can get triple-B status still?…

Still haven’t played Nier but will probably play on PC for better frame rate in a stylish action game.

Still haven’t played Persona 4 or 5. I will ~~probably~~ certainly still play 4 on PS2 on my CRT when I get around to it. P5 seems like a good prospect for switch for me though. But that’s such a long ways off. I have to finish all the prior ones first, no excuses.

I’m not as easily sold on rereleases as everyone else is, you already know why!

Ps: I will always pronounce LIVEALIVE wrong, I don’t care!

I’m with you on this. I didn’t watch the Direct, so was reading the text about it before I watched the trailer.

A season of death that comes at the turn of each season. Crops wither and the dust of death prevents people from even walking outside. It is said that the duration of Quietus is getting longer each year.

I know this is ad copy but I’m such a suckered for stuff like this (see my love of Crystal Chronicles)

the rocky connrrr picture show what’s your reasoning? Mine is just that it’s a dope ps2 game that involves CRTs so I may as well play it on one, I usually prefer to play earliest hardware a game was released for, and whatever QOL or extra content usually isn’t of any value to me personally. FFXII zodiac on switch is the one rare exception, but I really should play the PS2 original soon too lol.

treefroggy My 2 cents on P4G is that it adds a bunch of weird scenes to the game that vere into the absurd. The original had good anime hijinks and Golden leans too far into making them wackier, at the expense of basic respect for the characters imo. The new Atlus Lady Character, Marie, is intensely bad. The PS2 version, on CRT, also has a beautiful dreamy foggy look to it that Golden doesn’t retain all that well. The original is for sure the way to go, it’s the tighter and more focused version.

There’s good QOL stuff in Golden and some decent additions like going out at night but the trade off makes it not worth it imo. Would love to hear @the rocky connrrr picture show ’s thoughts too!

treefroggy well the opening theme before the title being better is enough for me, but I also think those rereleases mostly just introduce a lot of extra bloat and I got tired of the prevailing sentiment being that Golden was the definitive way to play. I don’t like that at all. I enjoyed the original enough for a second max social link playthrough (which I didn’t finish but I did get pretty far). But maybe my memory is colouring the experience and it’s actually bad and reddit was right all along lol
