I mean, there’s a WB byline on the trailer—it’s perfectly plausible that certain people at WB were not aware of Nintendo re-upping their old publishing contract but no part of me believes they went rogue on a reissue of fuckin’ Quest for Camelot.
◉◉maru Ex-Nintendo alum Imamura Takaya, famously the character designer of Fox McCloud and Captain Falcon, partnered with City Connection for a game adaptation of his recent one shot manga Omega6. The game will be shown at TGS.
FWIW it’s not strictly an adaptation, but a new story set in the universe of the manga; Imamura’s also directly handling the dot art himself.
Also worth mentioning: the music on this game is being handled by Shinobu Amayake, who composed Imamura’s Stunt Race FX and some other early Nintendo games including Wario’s Woods and Mario Open Golf.
City Connection and Happymeal are announcing a second collab next week… the extremely optimistic prediction by a lot of people is some sort of remake/revival of Mississippi Satsujin Jiken, Jaleco’s Famicom adaptation of Murder on the Mississippi, but I suspect it’ll be an all-new thing.
