I just had a weird dream where there was a lot of foot traffic on top of a spooky old house, like with pedestrian walkways but on a roof, and it led through some pretty gardens and stonework. Instead of shingles the roof was made of like stiched together black bean bags and I almost slid right off it. People seemed to be moving in a hurry and very deftly too (some parts of the walkway needed to be climbed), especially the bad boys with eyepatches dressed in black cloaks whom I knew instinctively to be hitmen. I was wearing a black T-shirt that said LOOKING LEFT IS MY FAVOURITE BAND with a skeleton on it. Everyone was dressed in black. It was late in the evening in the autumn probably. My friend and I were climbing sideways along some ornate concrete bricks and I was having more trouble than she was, and as she overtakes me she tells me she likes my shirt.

I also dreamt that someone made a new Sega Nomad and got it to run one of the new Zeldas but I wasn’t convinced that I needed one for myself.

i dreamt a john oliver episode, where he made a joke like
“you tell your kids not to play with the wild animals in the zoo, because they’re dangerous, but because we put them in a zoo, they act calmer, which is nice, but-” (wording not exact, but the structure and logic was similar) and when i woke up i was surprised that joke made as much sense as it did for being concocted via dream.

NoJoTo in the dream I think it was meant to be like looking both ways? The shirt might as well have said “brushing twice a day is my favourite band” or “getting to bed at a reasonable time is my favourite band.” We don’t even have “look left” pavement markers here, I think that’s a UK thing.

Had a dream a woman who looked like Florence Pugh (but wasn’t!) was getting very angry at all of the anti-servant discourse going around so had her dozens and dozens of servants stage a Busby Berkeley-style musical song and dance pro-servant protest.

I had a dream that there was a widespread virus that compelled people to draw biology textbook quality pictures of infected single cell organisms. We quickly figured out what they were supposed to be, but not why we were drawing them or what to do about it. The popular theory, though we had no proof, was that it was a dying single celled alien species calling on us to come up with a cure for them. We had no idea how.

I had a dream last night about a japanese-only DS game called Taylor Swift: お元気ですか (or, Taylor Swift: How Are You!). It’s a Tokimeki Memorial-like where you have to help manage Taylor’s crowded social calendar to develop friendships, drive her career, and, yes, pursue romance. As far as I can tell, the gameplay hued pretty closely to Tokimeki Memorial, except there was no Yoshio and you had unlimited access to your phone (because cell phones). If I didn’t have a busy week ahead of me, I’d totally mock up the boxart for this one.

(edit: any of you industry professionals are welcome to take this idea and pitch an updated switch version to her team. I’d definitely play it if it releases in a language I can actually read!)

(edit 2: I took 30 minutes during a dumb work call and threw this together – this is more or less how it looked in my head, though she had a bit more of a shiori thing going on in the dream – flowing hair)

I’m back from my vacation. During my final night in a hotel I dreamt I was in my kitchen, where there was a large handwritten sign floating in the air that read:

I had a dream where I was watching Lord of the Rings and in it Samwise falls in love with an orc but then has to kill his crush because it wants to eat Frodo, and he’s really torn before he makes up his mind.

I just had a dream where I was on my way to an art gallery. I set out at dark out on a cool summer evening across a very hilly and wet city. The streets were slick but it wasn’t raining. I thought I’d take a shortcut through a ditch so I slid down a steep hill in the middle of the road with cars nipping at my heels but somehow didn’t get run over, and somehow the cars didn’t turn into the ditch after me. I don’t know where they went off to. I trudged on through the broad, mildly walkable ditch hopping between muddy but firm surfaces across the stream that wound through. I took out my phone, an iPhone xr just like irl, to check my route. I then noticed that my boots weren’t tightened so I started pulling the extra long laces taught when a group of four very short nerds led by this Chip Cheezum, or maybe cboyardee (the youtube animator, not Ettore Boiardi the canned pasta entrepreneur) lookalike sidled up to me. Chip Boyardee sighed reluctantly and asked “can I use your phone?” I immediately knew I was about to be mugged, so I hurried up the ditch to the cobble-stone square to get away from these people. Thinking on my feet I feared the laces I’d just pulled might trip me up, unless I used them as weapons against my pursuers, so I started swinging them with my legs like ridiculous spindly whips to keep the quartet at a distance. I made it to the square—this open plaza linking tunnel walkways with the city’s streets above us and a narrow tower in the middle where I was greeted by Jonathan Horst, the ginger host from Mac Address, who urged me to hurry quickly into the building’s elevator while he remained outside to fend the gang off. When the coast was clear I think I skulked my way home through the plaza hoping not to run into Boyardee again but our eyes briefly met and I woke up.

This was after I came out of a store where the cheugy Live Laugh Love influencer cashier grilled me in front of a checkout lineup about whether or not I paid for the music on my iPod and I accidentally revealed that I had pirated music in the past. The crowd gasped and I had to leave in a hurry.

I tend to have all sorts of nasty nightmares, but I got one that was kinda similar from one of the nightmare moments from Mulholland Drive. I had published a book and was presenting it at a fair, and a person I knew from the past came to me. The nightmare part is that there was someone in the dream that “cut the scene” whenever I had a reaction it was not pleased, so the nightmare was living that and feeling like an actor in a reshooting, but not knowing which paper should I be interpreting at the moment.

Dreamed that my sister was getting married to Doctor Aphra from the Star Wars comics and I had to make a pasta salad for the reception but every bowl I tried to start making it in was too small

I relegate “the good stuff” as a secret for myself, but my last dream I remember I was surrounded by snow. Lovely snow, and I was happy.

In the last dream I remember I watched my family being killed and then I was sent to a “rehabilitation facility” where the government was watching me 24/7, only I was like in a wheelchair and semi-paralyzed so I couldn’t talk or move properly and the woman taking care of me mocked and sneered at me when she wasn’t reporting my whereabouts to the FBI
