Yeah, no big deal! I’m just tossing a thing on the pile, since there’s a thread for it.
I think avatar and image uploading should work now.
for those who don’t know there are three ways to display an image when making a post:
Hopefully this is helpful to anyone who was confused!
(Unfortunately, every upload will now be an image from Avatar.)
shane OH HEY. I don’t know in what way it could help, but in case it does, it just happened again. This time I didn’t even click the reply button; I just started to type down in the thread-reply text field at the bottom:
I am now inexplicably signed into this site on Firefox. I’m not sure how this happened, because I was not signed in before!
gate this happened to me too! It was really weird.
@gate and @AutomaticTiger I cleared the cache and rebooted the system yesterday. that might have solved your issue. if it keeps happening please let me know. I exclusively use firefox so I’m not entirely sure why it’s not working for some people. can you tell me what plugins you use and if your cookies policy is (is it set to strict)?
shane Basically the only plugin I use is uBlock origin. It seems I’m able to sign in and out correctly now. Weird!
some people were having problems uploading profile images. as far as I can tell this was only happening on certain browsers and only with jpeg files. I’ve disabled the crop for avatars to fix this issue. I’ll re-enable that once I figure out a fix. everyone should be able to upload avatars now!
gate Hmm I use the same plugin! I’m gonna assume it was some kind of cookie/caching error, that’s been fixed!
BUG: if you add an external link to your profile and press save without an icon being selected or the loading icons spinning then it will scrample the icon your profile.
it will look like this.
to fix this just remove the link, and readd it. this time selecting an icon.
Is converting the :thumbsup emote to a like, while reacting to a post, an intentional behavior?
PasokonDeacon probably a default behaviour I didn’t disable or remove!
PasokonDeacon disabled that for you!
This is less a bug than a UI issue, but can we do something about the menu that erupts into view whenever the mouse cursor wanders vaguely over to the left side of the browser window? (Like just now, when I moved to hit the “Post Reply” button?)
eventually we want to give the whole thing a slightly more traditional forum-y structure, but everything here is basically plugins on a very basic shell - so we have to pay somebody to write the plugin. which we will eventually! but not immediatelyyyyyyyy
Yeah, works will progress and all. Just felt it worth underlining that I HATE THIS FEATURE LOTS.
It really does not interact well with my ADHD, in particular.
azure Sorry about that! it’s a bit annoying alright! Maybe clicking the pin and pinning the sidebar so it never hides might help.
