rootfifthoctave the environment samus runs through looks like they may have reused it for prime, or at least pulled heavily from it. the animation is very similar to the Melee cinematic
it’s an early build of what would become prime. the door is the same shape and the critters make the same noises they would make in the final, or the noise was used for other critters in the final. these years nintendo had some of the most epic stuff behind the scenes that would get pieced and parted out into games all the way until today, when they are much worse than they would have been back then. Melee was basically a glimpse at what we expected the future of gaming to be, but we never got– because it was all essentially High Definition renders based on Super Famicom material…. which was rapidly replaced with sterilized, marketable fellas for the new millennium.
