captain I didn’t say anything against the 360 because I have developed a sense of retroactive appreciation for that console, thanks partially to the XBLA ports and re-releases, and because looking at it objectively, there is a lot of good games that ended up coming out during the timeframe HOWEVER the 2006-2010 era was unironically the worst time I had being a videogame fan.
Remember when all the games were brown and looked like this?

Remember when the Japanese side of the industry became extremely confused and committed some crimes?

These weren’t fun times, folks, at least for me, someone very uninterested in online gaming and playing Halo or Left 4 Dead with friends.
People also extremely misremember how poorly mostly of the games from that era perform. This past summer I tried to play Dead Rising 2 on my 360 and lmao, it took me 15 minutes to turn off the console due to how bad the framerate was, and that one is far from the worst offender.
Now, in total fairness, it’s true that there was Lost Odyssey, Bayonetta, Valkyria Chronicles, Dark Souls, Virtua Fighter 5, Mass Effect 2, Portal, the Batman games, etc. Those were also products of this era, but for a good couple 4-5 years things were pretty bad, if only because of the huge industry growth experienced in those years and the sheer volume of crap that was produced because of that.
