LOVED Liz’s reaction to the mere mention of Don’t Look Up. Ever since I saw it I have been telling off everyone who told me it was okay. (Why did I even bother with someone literally everyone who mentioned it to me said was “not amazing or anything, but it’s okay”?)

Shoutout to Tim for the reminder that one of these days I’ve got to watch the second half of Hard to be a God, by which I mean, start at the beginning again and not stop halfway through. I didn’t stop because it was bad, it’s just not an easy watch!

Playing Just Cause and shooting vaccines at people sounds like a blast.

Let’s see. I have identified the closest public restroom and it is open late and it’s not far. Score! I’ve also identified the one closet to work in case that one is too foul. Many times I’ve utilized the bathrooms at work on weekends because it’s close to all the activities, and not so foul during the off hours.

The N64 wrassles are kinda like that, but each character has their own “spirit” meter, which can be filled by taunting/executing moves (how much it fills depends on how strong the move is as well as move variety) and one person’s momentum increasing doesn’t always mean their opponent’s is decreasing. Having more spirit means you’re more likely to kick out of a pin attempt or not give up in a submission, it also makes you more likely to successfully execute your moves on offense or counter your opponent’s move on defense.

It’s imperfect, but it works pretty well. Apparently, the new AEW game is being made by the director of the old WWF No Mercy, so we’ll see what a modern sort of take on this might look like for the first time since…2000?

When I go to Japan the top guesses are “french” and “english” but never american, so… that’s probably good!? I reckon it’s on account of I’m not so big, primarily.

I have a weird, bastardised amalgamation of accents that that has been accused of being, among other things, Mid-Atlantic, Icelandic, Australian, and Canadian. I’m attributing that to South Walian accents being quite bouncy in sound, growing up watching a heck lot of TV shows with received pronunciation, and having a grandmother with an aggressively Scottish accent that I can’t ever place.

Essentially, I suffer the ultimate curse of everyone thinking I’m a tourist.
