My recommendations, excluding super popular stuff: Quadrilateral Cowboy, 10S, Fatum Betula, Hypnagogia: Boundless Dreams (and free first game), Lenna’s Inception… and CrossCode, fuck it. Game should be at near Hollow Knight levels of popularity.
I’ve been playing…
Toree 3D and the sequel: They’re alright, but I was disappointed that the horror aspect was so light. The level with the stars chasing you was in one of the haunted PS1 demo discs and I expected more like that.
ZeroRanger: Confusing but I ended up having fun. Core gameplay and music are great. Would have liked it if the game told me what the different modes are - White Vanilla seemed like an easy mode at first, but it isn’t (but kinda is) or tell me that type-B and type-C are different ships because the differences are quite subtle. I only realized when I saw the different charge shots.
Spoilers:
I don’t get the point of looping. Things don’t change that much to justify it. I think it would be cool if the game kept looping and became more and more unrecognizable like a simulation breaking down, but it just ends before getting to the most interesting point of the first loop. And it wanted me to go melee mode for the real final boss? Well, I guess I’ll watch a video because I don’t want to replay it.
Speaking of Undertale, the monk boss is absolutely a reference, right?
Sanguine Sanctum: Walked around curious places and offered blood to some demon/god. My comfort food.
