Syzygy Jaffe Knowing nothing of the context of this recommendation, the entire confrontation with the Emperor is a real masterpiece film scene.
exodus Jaffe it’s okay @Gaagaagiins I watched a lot of those vhs tapes I was talking about @yeso i’m really curious to hear what those pronunciations were - clearly none of them had gall (gall) nor guile (guile) and could not step to me because I’m a rap-o-phile
Punzai Tim made me laugh out loud as I walked past Buckingham Palace on my way home this evening. I wonder if I woke the Queen? It was the bit when he asked about how great it would be if a job asked you if you wanted to be an employee or the owner
穴 Punzai maybe if you ask for a job at Buckingham Palace they’ll ask you if you want to be a Royal Guard or the Queen It’s worth a shot I think, if you wanna be queen
Gaagaagiins I loved Tim’s impression of a construction boss complaining about OSHA breathin’ down his neck because it sounded like 45-65% of his Duke Nukem impression, kinda like if Ol’ Duke had run into hard times and lost his Nukem
yeso dumbest videogame argument definitely heated grade school debate about how to pronounce “Guile” in which not a single one of us had it right
antillese Cross posting yeso from this week’s podcast thread to add on (and not to correct): The electric Brazilian Street Fighter character name is pronounced “Bee-lahn-ka”. Because he’s B-tier.
Gaagaagiins @exodus Brandon wtf how did you so viciously skewer a particular component of Ontario accents, which is not necessarily characteristic of a Toronto accent, which is the strange grammatical transformations and overuse tendencies that the word “there” has gone though?? Got my head spinning there bud
hellomrkearns Oh dang. Can you not pick your music playlist in GT7? You could all the way back in 3 if I recall.
dylanfills hellomrkearns I think there’s no option to just play a certain genre or exclude a certain genre. I’ve only played GT5 and was immediately overwhelmed by 200 or so tracks with check boxes next to them.
Wooben The seizing of your leg before a horrible cramp is the first few seconds when a text box appears in a cutscenes and you realize you can’t speed it up/skip it and you just have to wait for it to scroll at it’s own pace
Jaffe I asked Esper to use this for the lightning round this week but it wasn’t compatible with the mix http://www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php?title=The_Price_is_Right_theme
pasquinelli price is right rules should be: closest wins, in the case of a tie, that is the absolute values of the differences between the guesses and the target are equal, the one that went over loses.
yeso exodus hard to remember but we did finally agree on “Gully” and I think the fact that we all settled on the wrong answer makes it next a level dumb video game argument
Gaagaagiins exodus I watched a lot of those vhs tapes I was talking about That’s very interesting considering they were most likely to still be Torontonians shooting a production over there in that there Toronto there, but that’s not a linguistic quirk I would associate with Toronto, or at least not the city proper. Perhaps it’s a linguistic time capsule of a City of Toronto from a bygone era…
