any other drain gang fans on here? excited about the new bladee single?
for the uninitiated: bladee is one of the three vocalists in the swedish hip-hop collective drain gang. earlier this year he released probably his best record, crest, with fellow drain gang member ecco2k. their sound started off more in the cloud rap/emo trap vein but has slowly mutated into this bizarre ethereal hyperpop sound that’s really like little else.
bladee’s been super prolific lately, he’s put out five albums since 2020. this is the first single from his second album this year, spiderr. i really like it, it’s got this wild beat and bladee’s lyrics are quirked up and have this sort of laid back, intentionally awkward flow to them that really puts a smile on my face. i’m real excited for the album, his last solo album the fool was i think his best ever but he’s shown a huge amount of artistic growth over his past several releases so i’m excited about his potential.
