◉◉maru Hmmm… Haven’t bought the V yet
I’m incredibly tempted by it, but… it’s SO EXPENSIVE (to buy in North America, at least). I’m wondering if there will ever be a point where the price drops a bit, or if I’m going to regret missing out on it when it’s inevitably twice as expensive on eBay.
It hadn’t occurred to me, but the character is even named Shiva, right, like 2P in Three Wonders? That’s cool (and it reminds me how nice the art is in Cannon Spike).
Yeah, those are quite great! I feel as though the STG genre needs more ‘floating person with a gun pod’ games.
I played a few credits worth of Side Arms last night, and I had an odd sense of deja vu seeing the very beginning of the first stage, as you fly in from the ocean past a series of skyscraper remnants. In the middle of the night I became convinced that it was practically a 1:1 shot with the beginning of Forgotten Worlds. I checked it this morning and I was completely wrong, in FW the first stage is a ruined city, but you’re passing it much more near ground level, so you see things like ruined expressways. So I’m still not sure where the deja vu was coming from! Anyway, Side Arms is good, but not quite as good as FW. There are a lot of similar enemies, and some cool stuff like the giant dogū heads, but it’s very much closer to the earlier Capcom STGs, so it feels a little antique.
