I think it’s weird the western video game standard went with A-F, 0-5, or 1-10. Why not just reuse the stars system from movies that consumers were used to? It is very easy to understand the difference between a 1 star and a 3 star movie review!
For a game I find to be so abhorrent as ya’ll tagged Hatred, i’d give it a non-score and maybe a small write-up why. You might have a literal duty to cover it being a (terrible) thing to some degree, but you don’t have to contribute to its marks to benefit the publisher. I love stick shooters but the marketing and whole vibe turned me off.
CW’s Riverdale is a trashy soap opera that succeeded just by throwing a decent initial premise and some young hot adults together, then just becomes more and more ridiculous as time goes on. I made it lazily watching it with someone else until they sent Archie to prison and did a terrible Cry Baby allusion that was the epitome of cringe. The Riverdale of video games to me would be… maybe the Metal Gear Solid series, minus the young hotties? i can’t even remember most of what happened in 4 and 5 because I checked out and just played the video game.
@exodus i tried Truth Seekers when it released and wasn’t feeling it partway through the first episode and bounced. Maybe I’ll give it another try.
