Just a heads up that I’ll be streaming/recording gameplay of AMSHAY hopefully tomorrow evening around 9PM BST (UTC+1) for those that want a peek of the current (still being tweaked) build of the game.

Well stream is over but quite happy with the AMSHAY runs, feel the game just perhaps needs a few minor tweaks before going gold but got a nice 2m point run in right before I stopped streaming.

Will stream AMSHAY more tomorrow if anyone wants to watch.

Feel free to check out the VOD but note i stopped playing AMSHAY to play Alisia Dragoon and Sonic 2 at some point and then at the end went back to AMSHAY.

Also urgh I hate being in front of camera and talking on stream so much >_<

I will make sure to do so. For now going to leave my retro setup in complete utter dis-order as to do this stream I had to rip out my PC from the living room and temporarily set it up in the bedroom setup:

Recording a different CRT to the one I am playing on as then I can turn its brightness right down and have the camera right in its way and not obscure my view. Sadly my old capture card for RGB/Component input died on me last year….

My current high score for AMSHAY but really with any changes to the game the SRAM high score boards get reset:

So I’ll be back to 0 again pretty soon. Oh well!

We have a brand new build of AMSHAY that adds some nice touches which been playing since I woke up.

bankbank So out of curiosity, is the Steam version the actual Mega Drive version running on an emulator?

it’s kind of a formality so I can put the game on steam, I expect many people will play on everdrives or their emulator of choice.
however I’m not marketing it as a mega drive game, I think it stands OK on it’s own as just some PC puzzle game on steam with “retro” graphics and sound. those who are into mega drive hardware will figure it out.

It is running via an emulation wrapper I believe.

For those interested I intend to make a very limited (10-20copies) run of real Mega Drive cartridges as just making one for myself would not be cost effective, but this is not something that may happen at least for a few more months time as need to time to gather parts and AMSHAY using sram for high scores complicates making them a little bit more.

So for now it is something I am looking into doing but don’t hold any high hopes.

Anyway stream over, sadly that good run ended shy of breaking another digit barrier to a silly mistake :'(

Going to be streaming the latest build of AMSHAY which now has a all clear graphics added and more palette swaps in 5-10 minutes time.

Ideally need to aim for 20m plus score so will be playing conservatively as much as possible.
