Toys ‘R’ Us is getting out of video games and slashed the prices on all their stock for clearance, including the OLED Switch model. This was already ten day-old news by the time I found out. After phoning a bunch of stores and finding some left at a really old dilapidated location on a stroad leading into one of the suburbs, I picked one up!! I finally have my own Switch.
I was monkeying around with the free trial of the online stuff and tokucowboy brought up Tatakae Genshijin 2 aka Congo’s Caper, so I played through that. It’s kind of cheap! The sprite art is great, but they’re so big so you kind of have to deal with blind hazards a lot. The hitboxes are also bullshit, but that means you can stunlock most bosses just spamming the club sometimes pixels away from their body. Despite having twice as many face buttons for the two actions you can perform—jump and attack—“run” is mapped to the shoulders. The music is bland with the exception of maybe the boss track.
