sosadillatron My first question is does the building play a central role in the game, or is it simply in the background? I’m guessing it does because it looks pretty gawd damned menacing here. :P
◉◉maru Not GBA (but you are right it is not SFC either). My explanation about the cultural impact of this new building was a hint about the period when this game got developed and released.
oprel Thanks for the write-up! That gorgeous dithering pattern on the sky seems like it wouldn’t be very economic for console games of the time. Am I correct in assuming it’s an arcade game? I’m also pretty sure it’s not from any fighting game from the early 90’s.
◉◉maru Not that I care but, per the rules of the topic, you are not supposed to guess the game after yours! Yes, it is an arcade game. I was looking for a hardware we had not tackled in the last ten entries.
Video Game King Does “arcade” include the Neo Geo? Because this looks close to Last Resort, but not quite close enough.
◉◉maru Video Game King Congrats! This is from Stage 3, specifically. TracyDMcGrath Indeed! This screenshot is from my Switch. I was amused to see the building and had kept the screenshot ever since.
TracyDMcGrath ◉◉maru Just played Koutetsu Yousai Strahl, and it’s a real fun game but wow are those bullets hard to see. I can’t remember ever seeing bullets that tiny and so close to the background colors. Makes Garegga’s bullets seem high contrast in that stage you screenshotted.
Video Game King The hint I’m providing for this one is that this is one of the few games in existence that can never go offline - which is to say it features online play.
billy Video Game King Is it the Nintendo-irking, eventually-cancelled MMORPG Wind Waker clone Wiki (sometimes referred to as Project Wiki)?
Video Game King oprel It’s Homeland for the Gamecube! That it is. To elaborate on my earlier hint, the reason this game can never go offline is because it turns the GameCube into a server for online play.
oprel Really charming game! I wonder if people are still playing today. I think that Devolution allows you to play gamecube games online on a wii with homebrew; might be interesting to check it out one day.
