Syzygy AKA in Japan as “The Kickboxing” which is interesting because it predates the Simple Series by a decade or two.

Best of the Best: Championship Karate I just have warm feelings for the GameBoy version because A) it’s the one I played through B) It was during an age where I had just started taking martial arts and C) the GameBoy is amazing in general, but I still think the main character’s “digitized” sprites on a GameBoy is really cool. PS I also think the classic WW2-ish era boxing ring vibe, especially the guy in the hat, is funny for a game set around the West’s small 90s window of pre-MMA, pre-Muay Thai, “Kickboxing” obsession.
adamazing sosadillatron holy moley, i have done the same thing. That’s amazing. I get to “the end,” and then I re-read it all… and go, “Whatever, no one cares…” and then delete it. Wow. I have a lot to say about Vanishing Point. I’ve often wanted to go through the credits and see who is still in the industry (and what they have worked on). I bet there’d be a lot of, “Oh, that makes a lot of sense…” but I haven’t.

exodus sosadillatron I looked at this and I was like “black and white andre panza kickboxing!” which is how I, a turbo grafx owner, think of best of the best. Somehow it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the movie of the same name about the same subject!?

sosadillatron exodus yeah! I remember thinking the same thing BITD. This is the perfect tie in for that movie, which itself is kind of a weird artifact of the time, yet there’s no relation. I wonder if there was supposed to be at some point?
sosadillatron Also, I am confused about what’s going on with the sprite of the guy in the front row. I think he’s leaning back with his hands behind his head, but is that some sort of feather pimp hat on his head?
exodus @tombo I immediately thought of Just Cause but I don’t think it’s Just Cause. My question will be: did this come out on xbox 360?
exodus Hmm, blacksite area 51 doesn’t have palm trees in it and it’s lower fidelity than Rage really wondering what that foot is doing there……… so my guess is mercenaries 2? but the palm trees are more lush in that game so I know I’m wrong!!
