I did not include games that are a part of a franchise but did not have more than one game.
rootfifthoctave i would be interested in which franchises got the most votes!

Here is more or less the same chart but with the votes submitted for each game from each franchise adjusting the weighting.
Final Fantasy still resoundingly dominates, Katamari shoots up in the rankings to reflect its dominance in the results overall even with comparatively few entries.
I cut off the franchises with only 2 votes, mostly because it was almost the same. The Deus Ex, Drakengard, Marvel vs. Capcom franchises had one game with 2 votes, so they would make this version of the chart where they didn’t in the previous one. Actually, I cut the franchises with 3 votes too, for the same reason. It’s more or less the same.
NieR did fare better overall, but still not enough to break the Top 5, since other franchises also benefitted from the switch. If you’re wondering about the conglomeration of the Drakengard and NieR series as being the same, well, it would put it over Persona at also 12 votes and tie it with the Chrono franchise at 14 votes. However, doing the same service for Persona and Shin Megami Tensei would benefit that series and spin-off combo much more, bring it up from 8 and 12 votes to 20, and placing it tied for second with Katamari. So, the best NieR can do is tie for fifth and only if we purposefully combine series and spin off to favor it and not the other heavy hitter in this regard.
Gaagaagiins Composer will be a bit messy because lots of games have multiple composers, so without a lot of close working over of the data it will look more like a list of top billings rather than individual games. I’ll see what it looks like if I make it spit out a chart.
