DK is certainly of an oppressed class. going on King Kong analogies one could argue he was kipnapped, exported as spectacle. Not to mention the monarchist King K. Rool’s oppression as well.
If I chose a political alignment in the mario universe, it would probably be the yoshis.

gsk R&D1 characterized him as this kind of asshole for sure. Arguably worse than Wario in this textbook case of ironic hypocrisy.

Imagine this scene drawn as a political cartoon. Who does mario represent? Big Government? Big Business? Does Wario represent the working class?
We live in a society of black & white thinking, but humans are more nuanced. Tribal tats are certainly bipartisan and choice of sport or even income bracket can be totally secular of politics. There are left wing billionaires. Not everyone who wears red is republican. Republicans wear blue sometimes. Mario can jump higher than any republican, guaranteed.
