I’m very much in the “Budweiser/other macro beers are good, actually” camp. I love all kinds of craft beer but I recently had my first Miller Lite in a while and it’s a great way to have a few alcoholic beverages without worrying about feeling bad. Also, while they are mostly globalized and conglomerated, American macros are still union-made, which matters to me.
On the other side, I was recently in France and was struck by how many bars and restaurants had not just French IPAs but even French-made American fad styles like the Hazy IPAs. Was surprised how much that stuff is penetrating over there. Maybe it’s just for the tourists, though, I don’t know.
Also lots of Lagunitas IPA signs up at bars but that’s less surprising since they’re owned by Heineken now.
