◉◉maru For digital purchases, I just use the wishlist / favorited feature of the shops.
I do this too and almost exclusively use it as a quick check when sales happen. However, Nintendo’s wish list is buried in your profile section of their website. And Sony just removed their wish list functionality in their store refresh, which is really dumb.
However, this is kind of at the top of my gaming wishlist…
I would love to have a candy-style sit-down arcade cabinet. Astro City/Vewlix, whatever - I just don’t want a standing one. Every 6-9 months I start looking into getting one. In my ideal scenario, the kids can play games on it, or I can play the greatest fighting game of all time, Persona 4 Arena 2: Ultimax (fight me about this).
Thing is, these are really expensive. They are $2k+ new + shipping.
Over the weekend I got to the point in the process where I was looking at importing Chinese clones off of Alibaba. The problem is, they need a lot of work. The buttons aren’t great and the monitor is not acceptable latency for playing action games. So I started putting together an estimated bill of materials in OneNote because this is how my brain works.
So this exposes a few flaws:
- $1400+ is really expensive for something that needs a bunch of project work and I don’t want to spend that kind of money and time on something I won’t ultimately be happy with
- Also I can’t have friends over anytime soon
- Also… my friends (and family) don’t like Persona 4 Arena 2: Ultimax nearly as much as I do
In conclusion, this is on my wish list, but like, I certainly don’t think I’m going to do it anytime soon!
