exodus From the forums. It seems like the MODE and original GDEMUs are working the best with bad compatibility on the USB GDROM and sketchy compatibility on GDEMU clones. So if you’re not already bought in, wait a bit as everything seems to be rapidly evolving. I’ve played multiple revisions of the KoF XI iso in just 24 hours. It’s definitely an all hands on deck moment. I will keep updating this thread.

exodus From the threads, it seems like the mapper was the same across the games that have been ported hence why they all came one after the other. But yeah Dolphin Blue is the BIG one I have been waiting for.

I guess these examples really show how it’s the loading/streaming thing that’s the issue with porting these, since some stuff loads in slow, and you’ve got big black screens where there’d usually be a quick transition. still, extremely functional for what appears to be minimal work!! Excited for the whole dang atomiswave library to come home to roost.

yeah that’s a good question, because I’ve had two crappy PC-FX burns and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ve got a nice plextor drive, and the rule of thumb I heard was “slowest speed possible” but I’m still getting errors using imgburn.

I have this weird fixation with the port of Half Life for Dreamcast. I had half life on pc, but for whatever reason I ended up playing a LOT of HL1 on PS2 at my friends house who had that version. I got the pirated version of HL on DC maybe 7 or 8 years ago and sort of…. love playing it? The game felt a little dated on PS2 but playing it on DC its like “hell yeah, this is some next level graphics.”

Love the DC, but my “retro budget” goes towards PS1 and Genesis. Sadly my DC still just has composite cables etc.

One of the most defining memories of the DC for me is in one of the 98 GAMEPRO issues where it first announced, and they said “the console is a third of this magazine cover” or something like that. And it seemed so impressive to 13 year old me.

Oh, another weird piracy related thing I remember is Space Channel 5: pt2. I downloaded like a patcher that put the english audio and stuff from the NA PS2 port into the Japanese DC version. I’ll have to dig it out sometime, its very janky and strange. I think for some reason the timing doesn’t work as intended.
