coreywilliams My father-in-law and his brother (uncle-in-law?) are both PhD-having political scientists who obsessively play Wordle and the NYT Spelling Bee game every morning. One way I get my kicks when visiting is to ask how their video games are going to see them get upset at the notion they’re playing video games. It’s very funny to me.
esper tim said wordle isn’t a video game but it has a page on mobygames so now i don’t know what to think
kory While playing my NYT Crossword video game the other day I had a personal gamer cred crisis because I was stymied by the clue “Arcade game character with a propeller beanie.” Turns out the answer was “JRPACMAN”…glad to know I’m not the only one who was unaware of the unusual ordering of his name suffix, even after attending the literal Pac Man museum at PRGE. Anyway, that’s my story.
goonbag christa lee is always a great guest also gotta say that was the most fun lightning round in a while, everyone cracking each other up was great. in my head it’s birthed a new tagline for the show: Insert Credit: It’s Just Two Mice
Personalmatthew -Christa Lee is great as always -Baby Shoes -We found out the origin of why Tim “act the way I do on here” :O
2501 Sad about the Ocarina hate in this one. I’d like to think if that game weren’t overburdened with years of Canonization we would all be admiring its poetic evocations of space and texture, its surprisingly understated coming-of-age narrative (still my favorite in the medium), the way it cultivates curiosity and wonder within its obviously-in-retrospect limited means… in my mind it forms a perfect duology of archetypal myth-games with Majora, one exploring space and the other exploring time. Cool people would like OoT if they weren’t sick of being told that they had to lol
