I’d like to shine a spotlight on a game that doesn’t just feature a fart, it revolves entirely around farting.
It’s called Try Not To Fart.
The game is super simple. You’re a dude on a date with a girl, and you have to do quicktime events to avoid farting in front of your date. That’s it.
Now, if you owned an Xbox 360 in its heyday you might recognize this game, along with the developers, Silver Dollar Games. A lot of you probably remember the 360 had this weirdly segmented marketplace, with indie games and “arcade games” being relegated to their entire own sections of the store, almost treating them like 2 different platforms. There was a lot of really neat stuff on the indie section of the 360 store, but I’ll talk about all that stuff another time, in another thread. For now I wanna focus on definitely NOT that stuff, and by that I mean Silver Dollar Games.
Silver Dollar Games main schtick was making all these low brow novelty video games. They made “Who did I sleep with?” a game where you try to figure out who you slept with (go figure), and “Why did I buy this?” which speaks for itself.

It’s meta, so it’s clever by default!
Interestingly, Silver Dollar Games is still around, and along with making those One Finger Death Punch Games for mobile devices, they apparently make educational games now.

A screenshot of Silver Dollar Games official website, which mysteriously omits any mention of Try Not To Fart. Huh, guess they forgot!
What an interesting character arc…
