Syzygy Well said! I beat the game pre-patch with all the janky platforming and tough-as-nails encounters and it still lands on top for me as one of the best games to come out last year. The fact that Iggymob is fine tuning those rough spots whilst also adding new stuff is commendable. I hope they find a way to make Quartz fully playable because her melee combos were just dumb fun.

Also gonna take the time to pre-nominate Wanted: Dead as IC GOTY 2023 because I mean just look at it.

I went into this kind of hoping that Sonic Frontiers would be this year’s Metroid Dread where it comes up every now and then to get dunked on and never makes the list, but I’m pretty happy with the coverage it got haha. I played it for about 3 hours it’s okay.

Tim’s been bringing up Mario Odyssey on the podcast a lot recently which had me curious since that game’s been back on my radar too specifically because of Frontiers, a lot of what I read about Frontiers made me realise that maybe Odyssey wasn’t fully appreciated when it came out.

Also it owns that the RE4 HD project made the list, and I’m glad y’all reminded me of it because I’ve been streaming the Steam version of that game without it and now feel like a dang fool.

Lesmocon If Death Stranding didn’t exist I probably would’ve put Mario Odyssey on the Insert Credit Essential Games List. It’s the best 3d Mario, and therefore 3d platforming, has ever been.
