Capcom finally ages Ryu a bit, but Chun-Li still looks like she’s 29? And she has a teenage apprentice? That’s a great idea, but Chun-Li should look like Michelle Yeoh now. Being clear, that’s a complement and would be super badass.

Actually, just drop Chun-Li and put Michelle Yeoh in Street Fighter 6.

Our forum host wants more Yakuza in Street Fighter. Looks like he’ll get it because it seems like you get to talk to the puppets in the level backgrounds of Capcom X Tekken.

I thought the trailer was for that fake dino crisis futuristic shooter battle royale thing again, but then I saw Hugo on a billboard and got chills. I think the visual style looks so dang good. I hope the gameplay can keep up.

I dug the trailer. I’m into the hip hop/modern aesthetic. Ryu and Chun-Li have very cool designs. Good stuff.

The entire roster seems to have leaked and I like pretty much all of it.

Amused that Gouki seems to also have something tied around his left shoulder to match Ryu. Evil sprite recolor character for life, even with high-fidelity individual 3D models.

If true, that’d be quite an upgrade over Abel… I hope Mimi practices something at least remotely common in France, such as judo or taekwondo, rather than the other nerd’s inexplicable passion for russian sambo.

Also, Ed is German now, for some reason! They should have made Kimberley German instead, and have her be the daughter of a local G.I. (e.g.). I guess Lili would possibly be T.Hawk and Juli’s daughter? Great job on the variety of (presumably) female body proportions, at least.

As cool as these designs are, I still hope against hope that it’s somehow a phenomenal fake and that nobody at Capcom is having a terrible day…

I hope the leak is fake. Not because I’m disappointed in the lineup, but because Capcom needs a break. They’ve got an internal spy or something.

I was guessing that the game would have more Final Fight characters cause of the big focus on Metro City, so I’m a little surprised there isn’t any reps. Damnd was sorta in the trailer, but other than that I didn’t see anyone. Fingers still crossed Maki will be DLC down the road.

Also surprised there isn’t a single Third Strike rep on this roster. Would of been cool if they had Sean instead of Ken, even though that’s a total pipe dream at this point in the franchise.

Yeah I was surprised there weren’t any sf3 characters at all too. I’m hoping we get some kind of connection to 3rd Strike, whether it be story or more characters or something.

Also want to point out how Chun LI actually looks like a Chinese person.

I was also hoping for 3rd Strike representation. Sean would have been a great inclusion!

I still think they have too many characters from the SF2 era who haven’t aged but I understand why you need to include them from a marketability perspective.

Dee Jay was always one of my favorites so it’s cool to see him on day one rather than as a mid-series character change for me.

antillese You’re going to have to help me with the Leo matchup. Sometimes I’d just get TORN apart by a good Leo. I also foolishly fall for his DP every damn time lol. I’m frantically trying to finish Elden Ring. Once I’m done, I plan to go hogwild in Strive again.

Leo is an explosive character (I think they all are in -STRIVE-), but I’ve got two weird tips Leo players don’t want you to know!

You can block DPs. I’m not joking, you can just block and punish and Leo players hate it. Just block the wakeup DP. I’m a Leo player and I know I shouldn’t wakeup DP, but I do anyway and when it gets blocked I get blown up.
You can throw Leo out of his cross-up dash into back-turned stance. If you see a Leo coming at you full screen, just throw him. I suspect with the change to this move this will be an even more valuable skill to learn.

Leo is fun and Guilty Gear -STRIVE- is fun.

antillese I should know to just block on a Leo wakeup each time or atleast most times, but damn my muscle memory does not want me to do that lol. I think I remember the throwing tip from the game’s matchup trials but the timing it pretty tough.
I’m excited to play with hopefully a lot of you guys here. I played with some dudes from The Goblin Bunker last summer and had a blast.

I’ve only tried to play as Leo two times, but he feels just a little too weird to me. Not sure what it is.

Karnovski I suspect it’s that he can’t dash on the ground and he can’t block when in back-stance. 😋
