The good Dr. Farley is a prof of anthropology at SCSU and has been leading the archaeological excavation of the grounds of the oldest house in CT (the Henry Whitfield State Museum) along with his students for the past couple of years. I’ve been following the progress on Twitter, YouTube, and a couple zoom lectures he’s given and finally took him up on the standing offer to check it out in person! They’re wrapping up for the summer at the end of this week, but they’ll be back next summer to pick up where they left off (and are working on processing the huge backlog of artifacts in the mean time!). Turns out the guy knows his stuff! I think the site is open as a museum year-round, plus Guilford was a cute little town to visit.
