esper U G: What is the Mark Z Danielewski’s House of Leaves of video games? (32:29)
Nier, and Nier Automata if we want to think about it from the angle of a book that has multiple tellings of the same story from different points of view, foot notes that are up down left right and sideways, side stories, spiraling rambling, and is a little up its own ass but in a fun way.
If we want to go with the general story of the impossible house itself and spiraling into madness, then P.T.
esper Brayden Bunker: What is the aeropress of video games? (01:02:53)
If we go with a hardware-side of things, then it’s the Analogue Pocket. Portable, easy to turn on and just play a game. A lot of fun. I’m a V60 pourover person, but the aeropress is a lot of fun, quick and simple. Little to no ritual for it, or setup. Just pour, wait and go. It’s clean and tasty.
For software-side of things, that’s a lot. For me it’s maybe Sonic 1 & 2, Mario 3, and Mario 64. Just pick up the game and go with them. No setup, no big tutorials or anything, no ritual. You’re just in the game and it’s a clean, flavorful experience. I’d say Sonic 3 or Gunstar Heroes too, but both of those make you choose a character and play style. Sonic 1, 2 and Mario 3 and 64 are just one character default and you’re off.
