After watching Mario Wonder direct, here’s a simple way for me to put it:
as a 90’s kid who had nintendo growing up, Martinet’s voices [of the 90’s/00’s] are ingrained in my once plasticine brain.
But because he started falling off and phoning it in (who can blame him), his voices were already sounding off to me starting with the Wii era.
So with 100% honesty dude, I would not have been able to tell that mario wonder is a new voice unless you told me it was. the feeling some people are having, noticing the new voice, is how I already felt when stuff like New Super Mario Bros. came out.
So it’s fine. It may even be better. What matters most to me is if luigi gets to sound messed up again.
