ColdyBags If you wanna play with a mouse, I got a few recommendations:
Pictopix is the most fully-featured, luxurious nonogram application in existence. It has a tutorial, a really smart hint system, 300-ish levels, three game modes, a level editor with Steam Workshop support, like a dozen color schemes to choose from, and it lets you save your progress and quit mid-level. I will never uninstall this game—if I know I have to make a phone call, I open it up and start a 20×20. Never fails!
If you try that and think, “I just wish these puzzles had exactly one more dimension,” you might like Voxelgram! This one unabashedly apes HAL’s Picross 3D series, but it’s pretty good. Nowhere near as experientially/presentationally polished as Pictopix, but as you complete puzzles you fill in cute, themed dioramas (of which there are a lot). It has Steam Workshop support as well.
And lastly, if you want harder, more bespoke puzzles in the same vein, these games by Matthew Brown are all riffs on a combination of nonograms and Minesweeper. Unlike Minesweeper, however, you can solve every one of these puzzles without guessing!!!! Very embarrassing for Minesweeper.
