Thanks for answering my question @exodus ! Yeah, it seems like a lot of games from Japan are being sold overseas/to foreigners these days. Obviously, it’s nice that access is available, but well, demand is demand.
I’m less affected by competition for the stuff I’m looking for (other than the high end stuff), but I’m still seeing the price increases. The stuff I’m interested in (like weird PS1 games) can be difficult to ship affordably at times, so I never know whether it’s better to buy stuff now or wait to find on a future trip. Prices on Surugaya have doubled like twice since I’ve been shopping on there; I think the low yen has played a big part in that.
I appreciate the thorough response. I have a similar outlook on the state of things, but I’ve never traveled to Japan to know what it’s like firsthand. It’s nice to hear from people that know more than me!
