will catch up with the replay after work today, although I’ll probably skip the kid missing the pk, I also hate seeing that. I keep thinking about how little many of these players make and the consequences of leaving the tournament in the earlier stages in that regard. I imagine the USWNT is the only one that shares tournament payouts with the men’s side 50:50, and even that’s like 70K/year (edit: after tax it’s more like 47K) accounting for a 4 year cycle. And it’s wild how much some of the feds undermine their actual women’s teams (Spain, Canada, Jamaica - which had to GFM their trip to the tournament). Looking on the bright side: I won’t have to switch to a Tin Tin avatar!
