Played a bunch of the remaster and damn, as a JRPG enjoyer this is pretty much the experience I should have played when I was a teenager. I digged those kind of weird games that were really dope on the soundtrack, with lots of cool dungeons to explore and demons to adhere to my collection. While I feel some of the level design decisions were kinda repetitive sometimes, I feel like the solutions and the different scenarios were quite diferent and cool from one another. I enjoyed dungeons like the one in Ikebukuro, and there are some fights and demons that are really damn cool like Matador itself (spoilers from Ginza on forwards). The combat is pretty enjoyable, and I feel the weakness system and the auto combat mechanics are really chill and comfy (in the sense that JoJoestar talked about comfy mechanics that seem or are something we got used to). There are some bunch of things that don’t feel right to me, but the whole package, the demons, the character designs and music… damn, it’s cool, honest, it wants to be serious, also it wants to troll you sometimes… I don’t know how will I be talking about the game once I’m done, but hey, while this is far from perfect is comfy, earnest dungeon-crawler JRPG that would have appealed to me anytime.
