bwood Yeah Valkyrie Elysium is the 5th game in the series! Valkyrie Profile is a PSX game and got ported to the PSP as Valkyrie Profile Lenneth(which is also on mobile and has an upcoming PS4/5 port). This was followed by Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria on the PS2, Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume on the DS, Valkyrie Profile Anatomia on mobile(they shut the servers for this down), and now Valkyrie Elysium.

I’ve been casually dipping back into FFXIV because I’ve been doing some serious HDD formatting, copying, backing up, organizing and diagnostics etc. after busting a huge chunk of my GBA backlog. In the meantime I’ve started hand writing backlogs of games I intend to play for each console. Good stuff. New HDD is almost ready and then I’ll go at some games on a different console.

bwood there’s so many, just depends on my mood. I need to bust through klonoa 1 on my playstation. I want to play the two other Fire Emblem games on GBA that I haven’t played yet but first I wanna play the three on SFC. I wanna repair my Gameboy Color and play through the entirety of Metal Gear Ghost Babel this time.

2501 It got announced like a week ago at the same time they announced the Elysium release date. They haven’t specifically said dual audio so I’m guessing it won’t be, they’re very much billing it at a straight port of the PSP game. You can always download the undub if you wanna play it with the Japanese voices on an emulator or hacked PSP/Vita.

sabertoothalex Frankly I would’ve been satisfied with just the ability to mute the English voices but somehow the PSP version doesn’t even let you do that. I’m not always a stickler about dubs but it’s a pretty big dealbreaker for me when your melancholic dark fantasy RPG is constantly enlivened by the voice acting geniuses behind Symphony of the Night PSX and 4Kids Entertainment dubbing.

captain I play on PS4, but I’ve been meaning to get it on desktop anyway. I play Potemkin and Giovanna with a group locally every week so I don’t do much online but I really enjoy Strive, as modern fighters go.

Daang I really seem to be in a bit of a gaming funk lately. I have been starting a whole bunch of stuff and just not “feeling it” and losing interest after a couple of hours. Usually through no fault of the game – I’ve been having fun but then for whatever reason I just … stop.

I tried to start Mother 3 but I got to this screen:

The default answer is “Love” if that helps! Just a word that brings you joy. In Earthbound I believe I used the word “Dorito” and had a grand old time. Mother 3 actually seems like kind of the perfect game for when you’re in a funk, so I hope you’re able to give it a chance sometime.

I think the first time I really played Earthbound, I said my favourite food was pizza. I remember first thinking that the gimmick behind that was clever. Then eventually thinking this was a kind of a funny subversion of the intent behind the question, because, like, come on mom, homemade pizza is just not as good.

You may be interested in release order, or whatever plan you’re following is good I’m sure, HOWEVER, depending on which of those GBA games you’ve already played, I feel there’s an opportunity here: playing the SFC games first may make the GBAs feel overly simplified (or not, local ignoramus here)—though it must be said there are many streamlined mechanics/mathematical systems in the GBAs which will feel refreshing if experienced second—while playing the GBAs first could make the SFCs feel like the epic battle you’ve waited your whole life for. I’m a GBA kid and that’s about how it feels to me, anyway

it is mGBA (within retroarch) but I couldn’t tell you the name of the preset I picked. I worked it out once, and hit the “save as default for this core” option.
