I literally was about to make a thread for this but cool it’s already around. I have three albums that are different styles that I made, so I’ll just show off all of them.
Here’s my stuff!
This is my latest album. It’s inspired by a lot of 70s soft rock, baroque pop, and power pop. Think stuff like Big Star, Jackson Browne, The Beach Boys (from the 70s), Bread, and (gasp) The Eagles. Here’s the Spotify or if you don’t like Spotify I have it on other services And then here’s my bandcamp
I also have this album! (deezer, spotify, bandcamp) It’s a little bit weirder, from when I was listening to a lot of 70s and 80s japanese music. It takes a lot of inspiration from city pop and idol music, plus a lot of 80s yacht rock and pop. There’s a little bit of 60s girl group stuff in there too. In general think stuff like Taeko Onuki, Eiichi Otaki, Andrew Gold, ELO, and Phil Spector.
People seem to like this one the most (deezer, spotify, bandcamp), idk I don’t really but that’s also because it’s the oldest and the least technically competent. It made me a little annoyed at the whole damn thing but whatever, people like it. I tried to put everything I liked into the album, so there’s a whole lot of different stuff, 90s alt rock, 80s synth pop, 60s/70s baroque pop, little bit of shibuya kei influence. I dunno. One of the songs shares a title with a song that got used in a god damn rick and morty amv, which has made it by far my most popular song. 💀
There’s other stuff on the bandcamp, more 90s alternative knockoffs, but I’m not gonna link them because they’re old and I don’t like how they sound now.
