Just played my first live show today! I was playing various instruments (mandolin, saw, synth) for my friend’s indie rock/pop/folk(?) solo project.
My two takeaways are:
I was too nervous (in part due to covid concerns) and i forgot to tune my mandolin correctly, i also forgot to make sure I didn’t look like a mess before playing, and I sure did look like a mess.
I didn’t realize how much you sweat while playing live, like i’ve seen bands and they are all sweaty when they finish a gig, but I thought that was only when playing fast stuff that requires a lot of effort for a long time, i played slow and easy stuff and I ended up soaked in sweat after a 25 minutes set!
