The Casio Loopy is definitely lavender, though I think it– much like the Japanese Mega Drive reset button– is incredibly prone to discoloration/color fading, which makes it take on a grey appearance, while the button colors typically remain fine, for some reason.
6. What game would you give a young Brandon Sheffield to change his destiny as an inveterate Nintendo hater?
Also how about Little Samson or Cocoron? Little Samson feels more solid, Cocoron had some really neat ideas with customizing your character, which gave them different play styles.
Alternatively, Gimmick! Gimmick’s difficulty still frustrates me to this day, but I do keep coming back to it for its charm, presentation (it is very Kirby-like), and amazing soundtrack. We’ll never get that remake outside of the exA-Arcadia…
If all else fails, speaking as a Mega Drive enthusiast who takes an interest in PC Engine, I think Kirby would probably also be really good bet.
8. It has now been 24 hours since the February 17th Nintendo Direct aired. What can you still remember about it?
I cannot wait for Famicom Detective Club. One thing to note is that only Part II was remade! Part II is also the only one with a fan translation patch, so this’ll be the first time non-Japanese speakers will be able to properly experience Part I! That’s pretty cool.
And now to wait for that official Metal Slader Glory remake that’ll definitely, 100% happen.
(The illustrator is at least still super active online, occasionally will post about the game, but mostly draws lewd things in the mean time. Their style has also gone from pretty typical for the 90s, to way more distorted and exaggerated. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ )
