The two big frustrations are having to start the mission from the beginning when I lose (which for this series seems to be more problematic than in something like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden, where you’re not listening to lots of dialogue repeatedly), and the fact that I often don’t know what I’ve done wrong.
fridgeboy grinding for better planes and upgrades is definitely an option
I certainly haven’t been taking advantage of these systems and will look into that next time, but—and this sounds silly—I don’t know how to grind in AC5. All I know how to do is play the mission I’m on. I’ll investigate this.
kory large red “TGT” painted
I did realize this early on, but I think I’m facing a problem particular to me—the TGT text is rendered in a slightly dimmer red than all the other red graphics (“WARNING,” “SYS DESTROYED,” etc) and I’m subtly colorblind to the point that I’m having to exert real effort to see it. It’s easy for me to just soar past it.
rejj Mid-air collision with a plane that I swear came out of nowhere.
This bites, Jesus.
I tried the mission I’m on 5 or 6 times, getting a bit farther each time and then of course being sent back to the beginning. The final time I tried the radio chatter was saying I had 30 seconds(!!!) left in the mission until victory, and I failed… somehow… I don’t know what happened… with probably 10 seconds left on the clock. Aaaaargh!!!

doing the tutorial months ago and then skipping it when starting the game recently wasn’t very smart of me lol
