I just got J&J’ed!!!
Yesterday they started vaccinating people within the 18-40 age range where I live (tijuana) and the whole city was a disaster due to long lines, me and my brother tried to go a place that was vaccinating people in cars because he recently injured himself while skateboarding but we got stuck in traffic just to get there and by the time we got to the line it was so long that we got out (the wait time was 3 hours aprox) and tried another place but it also was very crowded and by that time we were so hungry and tired of the 30°C weather that we decided to go home. Going on the first day was a very bad idea and my brother got a chance to say “I told you so” to me like 100 times in a single day
Today we we’re supposed to go to a walk-in place but last night he ate too much of a tomato bread that I baked and he got sick and couldn’t go today and that was unfortunate lol, so I went alone today and after waiting an hour in a mile long line that fortunately was moving quickly I got vaccinated!
Most of mexico is just starting to vaccinate people within the 40-50 age range, but the border region is getting vaccinated earlier so that the border can reopen, it feels kind of weird being vaccinated earlier just because of some political nonsesne while other people in Mexico will have to wait a lot longer but at least I got vaccinated.
What’s kind of infuriating is that the U.S (and the E.U.) government hasn’t approved chinese and russian developed vaccines and those are the ones that a lot of people are getting on less developed and poorer countries, so when borders re-open and they start asking for vaccine proof, is extermely likely that people with chinese and russian vaccines will not be able to cross borders and that’s horrible and it’s already creating a lot of uncertainty where I live because border crossing is very important over here.
