I got my second shot last week and, unlike the fleeting muscle aches the first one triggered, this one threw me into a wicked fever that kept me up all night.
Then at 5:30 in the morning I woke up to a busted toilet connector flooding our hallway and my bedroom, : ^ ), so I had to mop up all these puddles and haul furniture with a dead arm and an aching taint with my half-asleep roommates getting in the way. I slept on a yoga mat for three or four nights because my regular mattress—a shikibuton—sandbagged the edge of the water and needed time to dry out. But also it took that long for my arm to stop hurting.
I don’t want to say it gave me second thoughts about this whole vaccination thing, but I wish I’d put it off a day.
