I don’t know if this is a thing or just a coincidence, but I’ve noticed a trend in online games (especially among Japanese players) that I enjoy:
So you know how there’s just a trust system for taking the starting potions & rations from the item box at the beginning of a multiplayer quest? Since there are four of each & four maximum players, it’s Monster Hunter etiquette to just take one of each when you’re in an open lobby, as someone else might pop into the quest later. I’ve been responding to Join Requests & I’ve seen numerous times now where new players pop into the quest, check the item box, see that someone has taken all the items & not left any behind for new questers. They immediately leave the quest upon this discovery.
These are high-rank folks, so it’s not like they need the med kits or rations. It’s just the principle of, “these shits are rude, I’m out.” Maybe I’m reading the behavior the wrong way, but this is my narrative & I like it
