On the off chance this is news to someone here, as it was to me - if you happen to have picked up copies of Hitman 1 and/or 2 over time, such as through PS+ (which is how I got both), you can upgrade them to the Hitman 3 engine for free. Why do this? Well if you’ve got yourself a PS5, Hitman 3 runs natively, with all the performance benefits that implies. Even if not, by following these steps your standard edition Hitman 1 gets a free upgrade to GOTY! On Playstation it’s simple, just install H1 (no need to install all the levels, so uncheck those boxes when it asks) and run it, the main menu should give an option to claim the Legacy Pack. If not, you may need to install H2, or if you don’t own that, there should be a H2 starter pack which is basically a demo but unlocks the H1 Legacy Pack anyway? I’m not sure about that part because I had licenses for both? Anyway, claim that Legacy Pack, and the H1 GOTY Access Pass for H3 should now be free in the PS store. Likewise if you own H2 the Access Pass for whatever edition you own should be free in the PS store. Grab them and then go ahead and grab the H3 Starter Pack. Once again, even though this is basically just a demo as far as H3 content goes, it functions just the same as the full game when it comes to playing any content you have an Access Pass for.
Maybe now I can find out why, according to some, this is one of only two modern franchises you need to play to experience everything good about video games.
