Hello there. Systemreactor here (he/him). I have been lurking for a while and decided to take the plunge into the forums. I started the video gaming thing back in the early 80s (I have stories), worked at a couple video game stores (I have more stories), and spent way too much money on import video games. I don’t work in the video games industry (does working in a video game store count? - probably not) but I work in the identity theft department of a major credit reporting agency (folks in the US, please check your credit reports regularly and report unusual activity).
I livestream twice a week. I own a bunch of games I haven’t played in over 10-15 years and I am now revisiting them and let’s just say age has a wonderful way of making you humble. I do want to make a video game at some point, but a few things are stopping me which I won’t get into in this introduction post.
I’ve played too many games to count. Everything from the obscure to the mainstream and a lot in between. I love cult television shows, am a cinephile (I still own a Laserdisc player) and am convinced that Barney Miller and Night Court take place in the same universe. I love cooking and I am happily married. Unbelievably happy.
Anyhoo, glad to be here.
