Absint welcome! When I went to Rome I was recommended a video game store by some friends, which was deep in the suburbs. When I got there the store was closed despite their hours saying they should be open - I waited there for 4 hours, going around to nearby ruins, waiting at a cafe, seeing a very sad second hand shop, and they never opened. I talked to my friends and asked what was up, they called him, and apparently he decided he just didn’t want to go in that day, ha ha. So that’s my big impression of video games in Rome so far!

ahahahah man, I somehow missed the chance to play Shadow of Rome on my ps2 at the time, I really have to play that one finally one day.

Imagine, I ve lived there 25 years and I wouldn’t be able to suggest you anything regarding videogames in my city … I don’t think there’s much going on there still today.

I left Rome at 25, moved to Paris, then Madrid, Poland for a bit, and now Barcelona is where I live.
I go back only to eat certain food, see some scenery with my gf and see some family.
It’s nice goin there from time to time, but I wouldn’t live there to be honest ': )

I’m guessing there must be something new I’m not aware though, going around in Rome now. Some indie studios for sure. In recent years a good school about concept art opened there, I went once, met some nice people and a good teacher from San Francisco that was giving a class there.

I guess I might not be up to date on everything happening nowadays there ': )
But still, probably not much.

i have been posting here for a little while now, mostly in the book thread, but i wanted to give an official hello.

came to insert credit by way of action button and it quickly secured the spot of the only podcast in rotation–since covid started, my only “commute” time is when i walk my dog. i lurked the forums now and then, but it wasn’t until @exodus asked for chair recommendations that i was compelled to make an account, as i had just gotten a chair of my own.

anyway, i’m from detroit and live in phoenix now with my wife (arizona is great–don’t listen to the haters). i have a masters in creative writing, but i just work in tech. i speak a little 日本語.

I was in Tucson last week and I declare myself a hater not of Arizona but of the sun being too close to Arizona.

穴 tuscon is awesome! i was also there last weekend. it used to be significantly cheaper than phoenix (and in some ways still is), but a lot of the historical houses have been getting scooped up and remodeled into gorgeous but prohibitively expensive homes.

what did you do down there? driving up to the top of mt lemmon outside town would have gotten you about 25 degrees cooler.
