Heya, Kevin Eubanks here; no relation or any personal skill in guitar whatsoever. Was put onto the IC Podcast around episode 30 or so by a friend & was rather pumped to see y’all return! I try to be open to experience any game that actually seems neat, but my formative years were playing competitive TCGs, RTS & Melee, so I still tend to gravitate back toward whatever competitive game I’m currently into and roguelikes because of the masochism that competition has apparently given me.

Starcraft 2 is it again for me currently, but really I just want to talk a whole bunch about Deadly Premonition and listen to the whistle theme.

hello, i’m cera sophia. i found out about Insert Credit through tim’s videos about a year ago and spent some time digging through the archive/old episodes of the podcast and now i’m here. i beat Super Mario 64 when i was 3 years old and my 8 year old brother didn’t believe me, so i had to beat the last Bowser fight in front of him and he got very upset that i finished the game before him. i have been playing video games ever since.

now i spend most of my time goofing on twitter (@ciswoman), making music, and trying to write various “anti-Magic the Gathering” pieces that wrestle with my hatred of capitalism and love for games like this one. i even tricked a major magic publication into publishing a few with only one prior article written somehow??

All publications are tricks, so good. And that’s an excellent origin story. I wouldn’t let my sister play my turbo duo because she picked her nose all the time and didn’t wash her hands. Eventually I got over it but started wiping down my controllers. Welcome!!

exodus the pc stuff. My mom did get a free TurboGrafx from them for some reason or another though. And my cousins on both sides had games for it we would trade each other.

Nice. First time I saw a turbo grafx was in elementary school at like a toys r us or similar, and I saw all the marketing copy about it having the BEST MOST AMAZING GRAPHICS AND SOUND and just accepted that that was true because I was a kid. Then I went to a friend’s house who had won the lottery and he had one, and I saw Keith Courage and was super impressed, but I now realize this was because he had the biggest tv I’d ever seen up to that point. But that impression sure lasted, and I wound up buying one on the cheap maybe two years later instead of a genesis etc.

hello party peoples! I am Hunter Gough in meatspace. I arrived late to the old IC, full of hot takes and frustration that I was stuck in Albuquerque and not working in the game industry. Now I am out of Albuquerque and in the game industry (more or less), so I am less frustrated, and my takes are just moderately warm.

Ooh! I just discovered that I can pull this composition panel up so it’s not so tiny and cramped at the bottom of the screen, so that’s nice.

I think it was exodus’s article on the Atomiswave prototype game “Sushi King” that brought me to old IC to begin with. I probably won’t spend a LOT of time here, but I’ll try to drop in from time to time.

I… guess I should have introduced myself before randomly posting around, but my name is Jorge Fuentes. I ended up here because my editor recommended me the PS2cular podcast, since I’m always researching and looking into weird and lesser known games. I liked the podcast and ended up blabbering about Flower, Sun and Rain here on the forums and someone I didn’t know got interested, so I jabbered even more and that person turned out to be one of the guests, Brandon Sheffield. I only realized this afterwards so… yeah that’s me.

I did philosophy on college but somehow I ended up writing about videogames. The thing is I do it in spanish (for a website called Anaitgames mostly) so that means it doesn’t pay very well and I have to do other stuff on the side. Lately I have stopped playing new releases almost completely and I’ve been feeling like falling into a lovecraftian spiral of dank and obscure games. Currently I want to make some time to look into the absurdly giant itch.io bundle, to give those games a proper chance and because I feel I will discover some good stuff there too.

Looking at this thread I realize there are lots of cool people around and that’s great. And also sorry Brandon for not realizing earlier it was you 🙏

Ah, that’s okay! I am using my forum name from back when I started this website in 2001, so it’s a nod to the past, but doesn’t really help anybody who’s just showing up. No way you could know really, but I guess in a way that’s the appeal of it, just talking to folks without any preconceptions!?

I’m an old ICer/current SBer, and this is a cool throwback. I spent a lot of time posting dumb opinions, but I’ve since calmed down a lot, and I think I’m a lot happier for it.

I flipped my life around a few years ago to try to make indie video games. I have like 5 threads on SB about The Moon FIelds. Right now I’m spending some time working on myself learning to code games better while doing a lot of art. I’m mostly here because I love the stuff people end up posting.
