Aw man, can’t wait to see some of these. I’ll have a think myself and post later, but the first thing that came to mind for me was the creepy Damon Hill billboard in Daytona USA with the moving eyes.

I like this sign in Let It Die. It casts alternating colors of light on the area as you fight the boss.

slugpaste Let it Die was so… interesting. I really tried hard to like it, but I wasn’t sure “how” to play it with the premium currency and subscriptions. I felt like I was in the target market, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around some of the mechanics.
The art direction was also super interesting. The stickers were fantastic. Some levels were well thought out and realized sections like the one you posted, and the arcade in “The Real World” (??). All of that felt cool and lived-in. There are also a lot of areas that seems like it was just exported out of some kind of 3D asset grab bag complete with monster closets.
Though I did get killed by Tim’s ghost once. That was my brush with greatness there.

This holographic billboard in Sapphire always gets me. Look how many morphs it’s got!

And here’s a fun side thing - shane showed oh, deer! above. Back when we were doing the PlayStation Mobile version of the game, we thought we’d do the cool thing and put a Sony logo on billboards in the background, promoting the platform like various devs would do with genesis games. When we submitted it, we got a certification failure back from Sony accusing us of copyright infringement by using their logo. We felt like we were trying to do a cool thing! That’s what you get for messing around with big companies I guess. Anyway we removed it, and it was no big deal, but it sure felt dumb! We still have that Sony billboard in some old iteration somewhere.

daytona has a ton of cool billboards, my favourite being the ‘dinosaur appeared’ one. I took photos of them all back when the ps3 edition came out but I think I’ve lost them 😩

(hmm, those last two are coming out sideways and there’s nothing that can be done about it)

I love those namco ones!!

And these daytona ones are hot as heck!! I’m surprised I never saw that sonic one anywhere. I’m gonna be on the hunt as I play more stuff and just keep updating this thread forever.
