you know what, i‘ll do it! private message me some juicy gossip, and there’s a chance it'll make it into the first issue.
it’s very possible user MoH is an independently wealthy globe trotting playboy
fuck this isn’t PM
@“MoH”#p154722 (just delete the post and i'll count it)
@“whatsarobot”#p154714 I’m the ideas guy of ideas guys. Any amount of effort into production or publishing is already too much. All I do is run around naked, healing and protecting nature, and spout video game opinions from the spiritual plane.
Just now sitting on the toilet I envisioned a whole rant video about the constant complaints of reused elements in elden ring, and how it would basically be a video all about skeletons, with footage from that old Tex Avery Whodunnit cartoon with the closet which contains a skeleton and spoiler: a red skeleton. Thesis: sometimes a skeleton needs to just be a skeleton, and you can’t improve on perfection, from software has been honing their skeletons since 1994.
@“treefroggy”#p154735 see? This is what I’m talmbout. We just need to trick you into audio recording these thoughts.
@“whatsarobot”#p154737 we can just hang out and play video games and let life be our podcast man
Every time my biases are confirmed by Insert Credit Podcast I’m like *phew!… that’s a whole load off my shoulders… I don’t gotta keep saying this*… the best part is they barely even know I exist and yet it feels like they are my mouthpiece?? Am I using that term correctly?? I do hope this isn’t taken the wrong way (reason number 652 why I should just stick to inconsequential forum posting)
@“treefroggy”#p154739 Actually that‘s a beautiful philosophy. We’re all just out here putting out our various episodes. And if we ever do meet up? It's a crossover and we and the fans delight.
@“whatsarobot”#p154740 … okay write that down
### PUT IT ON A T SHIRT AND SELL IT
i‘m not sure what was in the deleted post, but I probably shouldn’t have used you as a specific example. it maybe came across as me trying to tell you what to do, which was not what i intended!

I think i'm too caught up in the world of Neocities, so I forgot that when other people hear the word gaming blog, they think of stuff like HG101 or similar websites with actual content and audiences. In my mind, a website is in fact even less consequential than writing on these forums, because only people who already like me read my website lol.
for me personally, i enjoy writing here, but also feel like i constantly have to explain myself, since i'm directly replying to strangers and i often am writing from a context completely different from everyone else. having my own website gives me the freedom of not having to worry about any of that.
when i have an idea, i just write about it. when people have contacted me, in almost every case they've taken the time to read a large portion of what i've written and have tried to understand what i'm expressing. often they have a website too, so i in turn get to understand their context. that allows for more interesting and more relaxed conversations.
obviously these forums also can lead to those kinds of conversations, but it all exists in a spectrum.
so my point is that websites don't have to just be the text based version of being a gaming youtuber, broadcasting misguided opinions to the world in order to manipulate the retro gaming market -- in the indie web context, a website is just a tool for conversation.
maybe in the end the ephemerality of the forums is the best context for treefroggy to talk about video games in, but i want to encourage anyone else who might read this to give it a try if they're interested!
sorry for getting too far astray from the original topic of this thread!
Any derailment is totally my fault!
It was flattering! I was going to just be gracious and move along but instead I kind of hammed it up a bit because I thought that it was funny. ;o
You’re not wrong, if I wasn’t lazy I could sure do something like that! Your encouragement is awesome and very kind

Yeah precisely. That _is_ how it should be! That’s actually one of the things I was saying in my deleted post. some stuff I want to say can be confusing, meant for those who already know me or are capable of giving the benefit of the doubt! hahahah.
(You made my day that much more special this is what positive social media looks like Ty)
here’s one piece of gossip that’s not so secret….saddleblasters is a cool ass dude
@“MoH”#p154765 put that in giant text on the front page when we go to print (@NoJoTo have you contacted AARP yet? maybe less demo crossover than if we partnered with another mag but they've got reach)
sorry to deliver a bit late, but expect this on the 4th of march (i‘ve gotten a bit busy with some other things, and don’t want to add too much stress to my life; also, i want to wait for the clubs to choose/announce their stuff first, in order to include it).
